Who we are
Solva Labs LLC is a Minnesota limited liability company. We operate solvalabs.studio and publish Wake Boom on the Apple App Store. You can reach us at hi@solvalabs.studio.
Short version
- Wake Boom runs on your device — your alarms, challenges, and settings stay on it and are never sent to us.
- One optional feature, a photo-based dismiss mission, can send a single reduced-resolution photo for a pass/fail check — but only if you opt in. It is discarded right after, never stored, and tied to no account.
- The website only collects the email you submit to the waitlist.
- We do not sell your data and use no advertising trackers.
- Email hi@solvalabs.studio at any time to access or delete data we hold.
What the Wake Boom iOS app collects
Wake Boom runs on your device and includes no third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or trackers. Your alarms, challenges, and preferences stay on your device. The one exception is the optional photo mission described below: only with your consent, it sends a single photo off your device for a pass/fail check and then discards it.
Alarms and settings
Your alarms, challenges, and preferences are stored locally on your device by iOS. They are removed when you delete the app.
Camera and photo missions
Some alarm missions ask you to take a photo to dismiss the alarm. If you opt in, a reduced-resolution copy of that photo — with location and other EXIF metadata removed on your device first — is sent to our processing partner, kie.ai, which uses Google Gemini to judge whether the photo meets the task (for example, a made bed). The photo is used only to return a pass/fail result and is not stored by us or our partner after processing. Photos are never saved to your camera roll, sold, or used for advertising or tracking. You can decline at any time — the alarm falls back to a math problem instead.
Notifications
Alarms are scheduled as local notifications by iOS. No notification content is sent to our servers.
Purchases
Wake Boom offers an optional subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple; we do not receive or store your payment details.
Diagnostics and crash reports
Apple may share anonymized, aggregate diagnostic and crash data with us if — and only if — you opt in via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. You can disable sharing at any time from the same settings panel.
What the website collects
If you submit the waitlist form, we store the email address you provide. We use it only to notify you about launch.
Server logs
Our hosting provider generates standard server logs (IP address, browser user agent, pages visited) for security and abuse prevention. These logs are retained for no more than 30 days and are not used to build a profile of you.
We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use this information
Waitlist emails are used only for launch announcements. Server logs are used to keep the site online and protect it from abuse. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data for marketing purposes.
Third parties
We rely on a small number of service providers to run Wake Boom and this website: website hosting, transactional email, and — for the optional photo mission only — our image-processing partner kie.ai (which uses Google Gemini). These providers are contractually required to protect your data to a standard equal to this policy and to use it only to deliver the service we have engaged them for.
Children
Wake Boom and the website are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please email hi@solvalabs.studio and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from our waitlist at any time. Email hi@solvalabs.studio and we will respond within 30 days. The Wake Boom app keeps no account or profile — alarm data stays on your device and the optional photo mission discards images after each check — so app-related requests are mostly limited to confirming this.
Data retention
Waitlist emails are retained until you ask us to delete them or until the waitlist closes, whichever is later. Server logs roll off after 30 days.
Security
Data in transit between your device and our servers is protected with TLS. Access to stored data is restricted to people who need it to operate the service. If we ever become aware of a breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you without undue delay.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes we will also notify you through the site or by email where appropriate.
